Collect Information Using Forms With Conditional Rules

Forms are an efficient way to collect additional information from buyers during the shopping process. They are ideal for gift messaging, custom embroidering or engraving, the personalization of products like stationery and providing special instructions or a personal note to the seller.

Each form has one or more fields, and can be displayed either on the product detail page or in the checkout process. Field types include a checkbox, text and paragraph inputs and a calendar date selector. For example, in the form below, the form is being displayed on all product detail pages, and has two fields: 1) a checkbox and 2) a paragraph input.


Conditional rules can be used to define when fields within a form should be displayed or hidden. Logic statements for the conditional rules are easy to setup and very flexible. In the following screenshot, a conditional rule is being used to hide the paragraph input until the checkbox has been selected.

After buyers have completed a purchase, form data is included in the printable Order receipts for storeowners, and is passed to ShipStation in the Notes field. Improve Your Shopping Experience With Product Options

The updated product options make it easy to associate specific product images with the corresponding product variant. When shoppers select a specific variant (e.g. a beige suit) in the option drop-down on the product detail page, the corresponding product image of a beige suit will be displayed in the product image carousel. Similarly, when a shopper clicks on a specific variant in the product image carousel, the corresponding option will be automatically selected in the option drop-down.

Additionally, instead of multiple option columns such as color and size being combined into a single option drop-down on the product detail page, each option column can now be separated into its own drop-down, all of which work together seamlessly to ensure shoppers are only shown available product variants.

Options can be accessed by creating a new product or editing an existing one. On the product edit page, check the ‘This product has multiple options’ box next to Options to display the product options table. For a video demo of options, please visit
