Presenting the new Goodsie layout system.
This was by far the biggest challenge design-wise on Goodsie. To have this many combinations that all work within different layouts, border sizes, whether the title is on or off, showing the price on the right or bottom, whether it’s a large image with a small border, or a small image with a large border, etc…
I started the project with a diagram:
Then moved on to a grid. The grid had to have 20px margins and fit 4 sizes perfectly. It took a bit, but I finally found one that worked.
Overall, this new system lays the foundation for rapid development of new layouts and new ways to show products.
