Holland-based store GoodOldFashion combines street style with carefully selected vintage pieces. Lotte Maas runs GoodOldFashion and handpicks each item for the shop. She then works with photographers to create unique product styling and inspiration for her shoppers.

GoodOldFashion currently carries a great selection of seasonable outerwear including a classic beige trenchcoat featuring bold red plaid lining, and an always-hip black leather jacket.

If your winter wardrobe is starting to feel a bit boring, check out some unique pieces like the the bright green velvet sweater, the vintage Wrangler denim top in a comfy boyfriend fit, and the dark plaid button-down blouse.

The Daily Dream is run by graphic designer Angela Britton and offers fun, colorful prints on vintage encyclopedia pages.

Angela has been a graphic designer for a number of years, and has always had a love for old illustrations. By creating antique-inspired prints on weathered paper, Angela combines these interests. The Daily Dream delivers its unique vintage prints worldwide, and is currently offering 25% off all orders. For details on the discount, check out the shop’s promo page.

Angela recently took time to tell us about her process: “We take old lithographs and images and alter them, or make new illustrations and give them the vintage treatment.” These images are then hand painted onto old encyclopedia pages or other homegoods. We think the prints look great framed alone, or placed together in groups.

A couple of our favorite from the shop include the cozy looking nest in reeds print and the assorted seashell print. Prices start at £24.00.

New York City-based company ANICASE creates uniquely molded 3-D iPhone cases with designs based on endangered species. Made for the iPhone 4 and 4S, the $20 protective cases feature neat depictions of the snow leopard, giant panda, and other species near extinction. Ten percent of the shop’s net profits directly supports these endangered species and their habitats through conservation and public awareness efforts.

ANICASE emailed us saying, “We realized the increasing number of endangered species disappearing from our planet and value the importance of bringing awareness home. We want to empower individuals to make an effort to conserve these species in need.”

Special information about these endangered species is located on the inside of each case. Details include the remaining populations, locations, and the harmful risks facing each species, providing real connections and shareable facts about the species. We learned that the goliath frog is endangered due to the pet trade and that only 450 Siberian Tigers remain in the wild.

Site Update: New Admin Interface

Since launching in May 2011 (about 9 months ago), we’ve added coupons, Facebook storefronts, SoundCloud integration, shipping groups, embeds and more to Goodsie — and the planned product roadmap for 2012 and beyond is even more ambitious! To accommodate this feature growth, we have released a redesign of the Goodsie admin, live today.

Our goals were to open up the visual canvas, streamline the navigation and focus the experience. We’ve increased the interface viewing area by 50% and every section of the site can be reached in one click via the new navigation menu. The new design should make the admin area feel more organized, balanced and clear.

Ophelia’s Apothecary & Oddities offers handmade and organic bath, body, and face care products. Storeowners Deborah and Heather started out making body butters and beauty concoctions, and eventually opened a small online shop. They told us that “around Christmas of 2009 we decided to buckle down and use the holiday as a launching pad to try to get the brand really going, and it worked!”

Among Ophelia’s products are indulgent body scrubs and exfoliators. The Sea Salt & Shea Luxe Body Buff is blended with vegan pure cane sugar, blueberry and apricot seeds, and sweet almond oil. This creamy scrub comes in a variety of fragrances, and the bergamot and violet scent is sure to provide much-deserved relief!

Montreal-based jeweler Marie-Louise Beauchesne designs earrings, necklaces, and rings inspired by her travels. “I worked in advertising and in the tourism industry for a couple of years to finally realize that I wanted to live my dreams to the fullest, and be a full-time artist,” she told Goodsie.

Designs for the shop’s IZALCO Collection come from Marie-Louise’s trip to El Salvador in 2007 and 2008. The Collier Izalco Necklace is the signature piece of the collection, and contains a striking 4 karat gold plate.

Crafted with gold, silver, and lava stones, the elegant pieces express the elements of El Salvado and Mayan artifacts. We love the combination of angles in the sterling silver Collier Zest Necklace, and the authentic patterns in the hand sculpted Bague Artefact Ring, listed at $135.

Last year Diana Bradbury started a thrift-blog called Thiftlover to chronicle her thrift store adventures and to connect with fellow vintage shoppers. This year she opened a Thriftlover store to sell her amazing finds and beautiful handmade jewelry. We were excited to learn that Diana hopes to grow Thriftlover into her own fully-stocked thrift store down the road!

Visual artist Nick Fyhrie has opened a store on Goodsie to offer his smaller artwork under alter ego Niky Fury. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Nick moved to New York in 2008 to complete residency programs at the School of Visual Arts, where he developed a unique gestural style of painting.

Niky Fury is currently stocked with the Disco Draw series. These hand painted works feature fun, monochromatic abstracts in acrylic on paper. All pieces are sized at 18”x24” and are priced at $85.

Shipping and product details can be viewed in a single document and used with third-party systems for accounting, fulfillment and more.

SEO Improvements

We’ve also recently made improvements to Search Engine Optimization across the platform to help improve the ranking of Goodsie-hosted stores in search results. This set of improvements included a number of changes behind the scenes, including changes to the errors returned for disabled stores and invalid pages, using canonical links to avoid duplicate content issues, using a product’s title and description for the product page’s meta description, and supporting Rich Snippets.

Sarah Seilbach Brasher is the talented designer behind contemporary, ready-to-wear clothing line Edelweiss By Sarah. Based in New York City, Sarah uses high quality fabrics and construction to produce beautiful, timeless pieces for women.

Sarah finds inspiration for her pieces in classic movies and antique photography. The old time glamour really stands out in her gorgeous 1940s-style silk dresses. Meg Frampton of alt rock band Meg & Dia recently ventured into the jewelry making business, and quickly developed a beautiful craft. “I spent a few months working out the kinks and developing my Robot Jewelry designs, and then created more designs to fill up my shop,” Meg told us.

She named her shop Chandler the Robot after the first piece she designed. The adorable Chandler pendant with copper booties hangs from a 27” chain and is available for $25.

The shop releases a special “First Thursday Limited Edition” product the first Thursday of every month, with designs ranging from Cowboy Robots to Punk Rock Robots.
